William L. Gurner - President

 
 

As founder and President of Sector Capital Management, Bill is the chief architect of the Sector Plus equity strategy. He plays a key role in portfolio management and oversees all of the firm’s business operations. Bill also plays a role in marketing and client services.

Prior to founding Sector Capital in 1995, Bill was the Manager of Trust Investments at Federal Express Corporation for 8 years where he successfully directed the investment of $3 billion in employee benefit assets, including pension, 401(k) and LTD plans. It was while he was at Federal Express that Bill developed the Sector Plus strategy in 1991.

 
   

Bill has over 27 years of experience in finance and pension investments for both public and corporate pension funds. He has been a speaker, panel member and moderator for numerous investment seminars throughout the U.S. Bill is a native of Memphis and graduated from the University of Memphis with a BBA degree.

 

 
   

Rex A. Morrison, F.S.A., E.A. – Partner/Director of Research

 
 

Rex joined Sector Capital in 1999 as the Director of Research. He was promoted to Partner in 2006. As a Principal in the firm, he plays a primary role in portfolio management and investment research. He was instrumental in developing the quantitative screening process used in stock selection for Sector Capital Managements various investment strategies. He supervises trading, and performs the numerical analysis of the investment strategies. Rex also plays a role in marketing and client services.

 
   

Prior to joining Sector Capital, Rex served as an employee benefit consultant and actuary with Aon Consulting, Towers Perrin, and William M. Mercer. He spent over 25 years consulting with public, private, not-for-profit, and governmental organizations on the design, funding, administration and communication of all types of employee benefit plans, particularly pension and 401(k) plans. During his benefit consulting career, Rex was instrumental in the establishment of the investment consulting practice at Towers Perrin.

Rex served on the Society of Actuaries’ investment portion of the Education and Examination Committee for 7 years, and he has more than 30 years experience with the financial and investment management of pension funds. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech and a Master of Actuarial Science degree from Georgia State University.

 

 
   

George S. Kirk, II – Partner/Director of Marketing

 
 

George joined Sector Capital Management as Director of Marketing at its inception in 1995. As a Principal of the company, he directs the firm's marketing efforts, and serves on the investment committee.

Prior to joining Sector Capital Management, he was a managing director of Morgan-Keegan, a New York Stock Exchange member firm headquartered in Memphis. He was also a former Trust Investment Officer with the First Tennessee Bank. George has more than 28 years experience in the investment management and securities brokerage businesses. George attended the University of Memphis and LaSalle University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.

 
 

 

   

William L. Gurner, Jr. - Vice President

 
 

Will joined Sector Capital Management in 2000. As Vice President, he concentrates primarily on marketing and client services. He also assists with portfolio management and trading.

Prior to joining Sector Capital Management, Will was the Southeast Regional Sales Manager for the Flex Funds and Meeder Advisor Funds, working primarily with retail stock brokers and certified Financial Planners. He was the top producer among Regional Sales Managers from 1998 through June, 2000. Will has more than 5 years of experience in Sales and Marketing. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

 
 

 

   

Kenneth L. Riffle - Director of Client Relations

 

 

 

Ken joined Sector Capital Management in 1996 as Director of Client Relations. His primary duties at Sector Capital include security analysis, proxy voting and client services. Prior to joining Sector Capital, he was the Director of Marketing at Amerindo Investment Advisors, Inc. of San Francisco, representing $1.7 billion in assets under management.

Ken has more than 20 years experience in marketing, client service and in all aspects of investment management in the U.S. and international markets including Canada, U.K., China and Australia. Ken earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

 
 

 

   

W. Gail Gunter – Senior Analyst/Equity Trader

 

 

 

Gail joined Sector Capital Management in 2003 as a Senior Analyst and Equity Trader. She is the primary person responsible for trading, and she also plays a key role in portfolio administration and accounting.

Gail has almost 30 years of experience in investments. Prior to joining Sector Capital Management, she was an Equity Trader at Highland Capital Management. She also was the Vice President of Options Management at Loomis, Sayles, & Co., Inc.
Gail has a BBA degree in Accounting and a MBA with a Concentration in Portfolio Management from the University of Memphis. She has also passed Level 1 of the CFA Exam.

 
 

 

   

Jamie L. Morrison – Financial Analyst

 

 

 

 

Jamie joined Sector Capital Management in 2006 as a Financial Analyst. As the newest member of the Sector Capital team, she assists in portfolio management and investment research. She played a primary role in authoring and designing Sector Capital’s website, and assists the company in other marketing endeavors.

Jamie has over 6 years of business experience. Prior to joining Sector Capital, she was an Associate Analyst and Technical Writer for GDS Associates, Inc., a multi-service consulting and engineering firm. Jamie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Furman University in Greenville, SC.
